I LOVE being a girl!

All last week I was trying to figure out what I was going to wear to Tim and Rebecca's wedding on Saturday. I had a pink dress from a couple years ago that sadly was a little tight and I didn't feel very pretty in. Clarito had been saying that we would go to the mall and find something for both of us to wear and I, trying to keep our finances in control(read: trying to get out of debt), didn't really want to go spend money, but I caved. Friday evening we went to the mall two hours before closing and raced around trying to find something to wear that wouldn't put us into financial ruin.

Its been a LONG time since we have both went shopping for new clothes, like almost 5 years. I still wear clothes (and even shoes) from middle school and high school and I graduated from high school 7 years ago... Shopping hasn't changed much in 5 years but man it felt good to get something new, to treat ourselves to some nice clothes, to be out in public, maybe even helping the economy a little? Ok, ok so the last one is a little far fetched but it still felt good.

Clarito ended up getting a nice dark gray vest that was on sale at the Mens Wearhouse and some nice pin striped slacks that were on sale at Macy's(you can never go wrong with pin stripes). I got a salmon colored sundress with white and brown cherry blossoms that was on sale at Gap and a simple white cardigan sweater at Old Navy. I also splurged a little and got some nail polish.

The day of the wedding I shaved my legs and pits, styled my hair, painted my finger and toe nails, wore a dress and high heels, and even danced. This is not the usual me.

The last time I shaved my legs was probably last summer(last week for the pits). Its been at least a couple years since I had my hair styled and I can't even remember the last time I painted my nails... probably in middle school? I only had clear nail polish and I bought that 3 years ago for a job interview and haven't used it since. The pink dress was the last dress I wore and that was for the closing night of Rocky Horror at the Lincoln in late 2007. The heels are the same black sandal heels that I wore for my sister's wedding almost 4 years ago and I don't really dance. And yesterday I felt like a princess! It was fun to take time to get all girly and pretty and to just pamper myself for a little bit. I can see it happening more!
